BRYSL Legion,

As League Commissioner, I am taking this opportunity to update the soccer community on the status of Brigade Recreational Youth Soccer League (BRYSL). Currently, BRYSL cancelled its Fall 2020 soccer season due to the COVID19 virus pandemic. We were planning to re-open the league for the upcoming Fall 2021 season, but unfortunately, the pandemic continues to thrive in our community and worldwide with no end in sight. This virus has negatively affected our daily lives and social activities. The near future does not provide us with clear vision on when this virus will be controlled or eradicated.

In addition, we have (6) six current BRYSL Board members that are planning to retire from BRYSL effective 2021. The Board retirements constitute 50% of the current Board members. The retirements would leave a huge hole within the board structure with no immediate volunteer replacements identified. It would not be fair to leave the current Board shorthanded to provide a high-quality service at less than full staffing.

We are at the doorstep of a new soccer season with many unanswered questions that will decide the future of the League. Therefore, at our December Board meeting, the Board will be discussing and evaluating the future of BRYSL.

If you have any questions, concerns, or would like to volunteer as a Board member, please join us via Zoom remote phone conference tonight at 6:30pm as noted on our website

Thank you for your patronage and interest in the league.

Daniel Moreno
BRYSL League Commissioner
